I am a wife, a sister, a friend, an animal lover, and above all else, I am a child of God and believe in the teachings of the Catholic church.
I have been searching for God all of my life, but I never knew it. My Daddy was raised as a Primitive Baptist. I don’t remember much about it because I was so young. I do remember that it seemed like everyone was stern, plain, and angry.
Mama was raised and baptized in a Baptist church. After Daddy died and time was moving towards the end of her life, she started attending an Apostolic Church of God. She had one wish for her three children: She wanted all of us to go to church with her together on the same night. We all complied and filled the entire pew. She was so happy. I hadn’t seen happiness on her face for such a long time, but that night fulfilled her wish and she enjoyed having her children be with her at a place that was so sacred to her.
She continued to fight depression, but sadly, she lost the battle. She committed suicide and joined my Daddy in Heaven on April 8, 2012 at 4:20 p.m.
The loss of my beloved Mama left me in a deep and dark depression. I went to therapy, but it wasn’t as helpful as I needed it to be. I remained in my own dark depression for a few months. Then something miraculous happened…
I won’t discuss it just yet. That is a tale of a miraculous event that I will reveal in another post.
This blog will chronicle my journey into the beauty of Catholicism, confirmation, and beyond.
